Circus Ring of Fame Foundation® Announces 2025 Candidate Applications for Circus Arts Coach of The Year now being accepted
Sarasota, FL – February 29, 2024: The Circus Ring of Fame® Foundation announced today that applications for Circus Arts Coach of The Year are now being accepted through April 30, 2023.
“After a hugely successful 2024 awards show we expect to receive a large number of applications for the Class of 2025”, said Bill Powell, Chair of the Foundation. “We are very excited to announce that one of the biggest emerging categories is the new Circus Arts Coach of The Year award.” The award is named after famed Sarasota Sailor Circus coach Willie Edelston, the first ever coach inducted into the Circus Ring of Fame®.
The Circus Arts Coach of The Year award recognizes the growing importance of coaching in the careers of young circus artists and shines a light on those dedicated to creating the future of the artform. The first honoree of the award in 2024 went to Bob Yerkes, known for training hundreds of circus artists in trapeze and aerial arts. Bob also introduced circus disciplined artists to Hollywood stunt work for the motion picture industry over a 50 year career.

Candidates will be considered during the months of May and June with the finalist nominees being announced shortly thereafter. Nominees will be sent to the worldwide Circus Advisory Council as the next stage in the feedback loop. Winners will be announced late summer 2024.
