We are excited to introduce our European project, which aims to bring together the power of performing arts and the vibrant language of circus arts to engage and unite communities. This project will take place in two European cultural capitals: Veszprém in Hungary and Eleusis in Greece. By combining historical sites, mythical spaces, and the incredible skills of circus acrobats, we will create a unique backdrop for a series of captivating performances and interactive experiences.
The main motivation behind this project is to create a platform for artistic interactions, merging the world of art with everyday life, and involving hundreds of citizens. Our project will unfold in public spaces, providing an exceptional opportunity for dialogue and exchange between the audience and the artists. Through this collaboration, we aim to bridge the gap between different European cultures, combining height and depth, history and modernity, the young and the old, amateurs and professionals.
In this 14-month collaboration, ACTION 4, circus arts organizations from Hungary, Ukraine, Greece, and France will come together to explore the potential of circus arts. Our cooperation will include:
🎪 Eight days of interactive street performances open to the public in Veszprém and Eleusis.
🎪 Collaboration among 50 amateur and professional artists, fostering creativity and shared experiences.
🎪 Artistic workshops offered to the public in various community spaces.
🎪 A grand spectacle involving hundreds of spectators, creating a living picture of unity.
🎪 Multilevel learning opportunities for project partners, young artists, and the general public.
🎪 A valuable experiential journey for participating artists, led by artistic director Albin Varrète.
The strong installation, symbolizing the weight-bearing capacity of acrobats, represents the importance of strong connections between people in overcoming the challenges of everyday life and global issues such as the pandemic, climate change, and conflicts.
